This is a picture of me with my friend and founder of the league, Phil Rose. Sadly he passed away in April of 2015 after many years of fighting cancer. I think his love for the league kept him going into his 80's. This spring will be the start of my 20th year as a member of Wilmington Senior Softball. I have served as the league Treasurer, President and a team Manager. I am now back to being just a player. The association currently consists of nearly 190 players starting at age 55. Since we have players in their mid 50's and some in their mid 80's we have divided our league into three divisions to accommodate all skill levels.
I think of us as a social club that has fun playing ball. Check out the website or give me a call 910-409-0032. Winter Ball is not an official league function, so anyone may join us. We show up, take batting practice and divide the group into two teams, very informal. So, come join us for a lot of fun. Call me first so I can look for you and introduce you to the guys and gals, yes, we have some ladies as well.
