Located just over 10 miles away from the Wilmington EUE/Screen Gems Studio - the largest production facility in the United States outside of California - the school has become a popular site for filming high school related films and dramas. Filming for the 2009 film The Marc Pease Experience took place at the school and inside the Minnie Evans Art Center in February 2007. The school's hallways and media center took place for Tree Hill High School on The CW series One Tree Hill, and has also been seen in episodes of the HBO comedy Eastbound & Down.
